FIRST-PERSON: Concerning alcoholic beverages - (BP)

While I do not use alcoholic beverages for a number of reasons, I have always struggled with what is the proper understanding of its use by the Christian based on the Bible. This article by Dr. Paige Patterson, President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, is the best and most clear explanation of abstinence from good biblical exegesis. It is important to note the different uses condoned according to the biblical text explained in Dr. Patterson's article. I encourage all Christians to read this excellent work by Dr. Patterson and use it in determining what their use of alcohol should be.
